If you love classic British Sportscars as we do, here is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of very rare and valuable British automotive history! This classic Turner is extremely rare! Only about 685 Turners were produced in total from 1949 until 1966. Jack Turner founded the company in 1949 and his cars were manufactured primarily for class racing events with a reputation for being very reliable and inexpensive to maintain. The cars were extremely competitive and successful in these events at the time. Turners won some very prestigious events including the 1958 Sam Collier Memorial Trophy Race in the U.S., 1960 class championship win in the British Autosport Championship, plus 3 SCCA D-Production wins in 1966. While very rare, Turners can probably best be seen in the vintage car races such as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix held this year on the 24th and 25th of July in Schenley Park. Even in modern times the Turners continue to capture individual club racing wins in the F-Production class. This beautiful car had a complete frame-off restoration where every single part, nut, bolt, and screw was scrutinized, photographed, and replaced if need be. The engine compartment, trunk, and interior all reflect the highest quality of restoration with no expense spared on the details. The true knock-off wire wheels are shod with Pirelli Centurado tires and both measure up to the overall quality of the restoration. One very notable feature of this classic Turner is the fibreglass body which was very rare for the time. Only a few cars, the most notable being the Corvette, Daimler roadsters, and Kaiser roadsters featured fibreglass bodies. If you are looking for a very rare and special vintage sportscar that is destined to appreciate in value and is available at a fraction of the cost of restoration, please stop by soon. This beautiful Turner truly must be seen! |
